Okay Amd 64 3700+ Asus a8n SLI deluxe Mobo geforce 7800 GT 2 gigs of ram Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, TUV, CB, FCC CLASS B, CUL - Retail (will that work on the mobo?) Yes, no?
might i suggest getting only 1 gig of ram, and an Athlon 3800+, the reason being 99% of games now days wont see any improvement, i saw some benchmarks done on it and the only increase were from 0-5 fps, ill see if i can find the article
Yeah nice system there, Get 1GB of decent quality performance RAM for now and see how it goes. Also maybe look at an Enermax or Tagan PSU as well, although Antec are a very good company and you shouldn't have any trouble.
if gaming i would say 3800+ non X2 would be better becuase games arent 2 threads, although office work, multitasking, etc the X2 would benefit. the 3800+ is 2.4 GHZ and the 3800+X2 is 2GHz, the extra 400 MHz will help alot in gaming and get good performance ram, like Crucial Ballistix
If all you do is gaming, the 3800+ will give you little performance gain over the 3800+x2. If you do anything else CPU intensive like endcoding movies and stuff then the 3800+x2 will do better.
