go with a antec or thermaltake psu there better brands and u only need about 500-550watts for that system 700 is way too much unless this is a buisness or server pc that processor is fine but if this is your man pc and u will do some gaming go with a Athlon 64 4000 san diego core which is cheaper and better suited for that 7800gt but if u use several applications at one time and do gaming then try a Athlon 64 X2 (dual core) there pretty good at handling these setups A64 4000 (this chip also has a bundle deal on newegg) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103529 A64 X2 4200 (also has a bundle deal and cheaper than the opertron) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103547 PSU's: thermaltake 500 watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153028 Antec TRue power 550watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103931
the dvd burner is good but heres better NEC (the best ive seen at such a good price and you get free DVD+/- RW cant beat that deal) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152058
Everythin seems O.K except for the PSU and the CPU. That Opteron CPU is'nt supported by that motherboard and is geared towards Server operations and will not do very well with gaming. Try an A64 3800-4200+ CPU, they not overly expensive but will definately do the job! Try to look for a Enermax or Antec Dual 12V Rail/SLi certified PSU, probably around 550-600W. Also, the Lite-On burner you chose will do fine, Lite-On is owned by Sony who make some of the best DVD Burners around. Unless your going to be putting your burner through hell, it's fine.
Reguarding the procesor: Socket 939 Opterons were made in a similar manner to FX-57's, ecept in this case its dual core, and has 4 megsabytes total of L2 Cache. Opterons overclock further than Athlon 64 X2's (I want a dual core). People get this processor to 2.9 GHz on stock air. Reguarding the powersupply: I had an Antec TRUEPower II in my wishlist, however i wasn't sure if it was sufficiant enough to power 3 heard drives, SLI and a dual core porcessor, but if you say it is I will go with it becauseits 1/2 the price. Reguarding the hard drives: Do you like my setup? I have a VERY fast hardrive for booting and 2 fast storage devices in RAID 0 with 500 GB total.
That's an extreamly awesome rig you've got cooking there. No complaints by me, you're right on with the proc in my opinion. To be honest you won't really notice the 4MB cache much over a 1MB one but perhaps in the future. Otherwise yeah it will overclock great and dual-core is a good plan too as sooner or later games will become dual-core awair and it just makes for a speedier experience in day to day tasks obviously. Good call on the harddrives, raid 0 will give you plenty of speed and so long as you back you're data up now and then you won't have anything to worry about there. FSP or Forton Grounp is a great brand, 700wt's is a lot but concidering you're hardware and OC desire I wouldn't say no to that. I mean you could always stick with Antec, OCz, etc. but you won't have to replace this for a while. You could also go with PC Power and Cooling's 850 I think it is, they make what are pretty much concidered the best of the best for psu's but either way you should be more than fine.
