red lines on screen..........

    Wouldn't it be funny if it was actually his monitor at fault, and not the graphics card! :p

    Could be a driver problem, but likely he's got some bad VRAM.

    Not unless you've got some GDDR3 of the same specs and some l337 soldering skillz, no.

    Don't bother with it, repairing it yourself isn't an option.

    But just thinking, could you RMA the card once you get it registered with ATi? Might be cheaper than buying a new one if you can get a replacement.

    If you could get it really cheap, say $25-50, I'd get it and then RMA it if you had problems, but otherwise no.
