Graphics cards are more important but so long as you're around 2.5GHz you should be okay. I won't say great but it's more graphically demanding than anything. What exactly are you trying to run it with otherwise (ram, exact cpu, gfx etc.)?

I'm either getting a video card from my friend who plays the game all the time or I'll get a real good one. I have 768mb ram pc3200. I have a pentium 4 1.8ghz, but i dont think it works so I'm going to have to buy a new cpu. That's why I'm wondering if celerons can play DOD source.

Any modern CPU meeting the minimum CPU requirements for DOD Source will play it, but basically Celerons will struggle with a game like that unless they are atleast 2.5Ghz like Exfoliate said due to their 'Slower than pentium' Front Side Buses and lower on die Caches. But yes, i don't see why a Celeron can't play the game ok!

You should be fine, you might notice a little slower loading times etc, but as long as you got some decent RAM and a better then average video card, you'll be good.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys. It's $50 for a decent celeron or $250 for a decent pentium 4, so I obviously wanted to go with the celeron.
