    Hello,

I recently bought a (3D Fuzion) GeForce 6200 PCI graphics card and at first it wasnt being picked up by XP, now it is installed with the latest drivers, but when i goto launch applications the whole computer freezes up and can only be recovered through a manual boot. I can only run Windows based programs at the moment such as the internet, but when i go to load up my games it just freezes on the screen and i cannot move the mouse nor will it respond to keyboard commands.

    Specs are:
    ECS K7VMM+
    Duron 1300mhz
    256 MB DDR

Is this a problem with the graphics card or my machine or setup? Drivers are installed properly and looks like everything should work until you try to load any applications that would use the graphics card. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you origionallly had integrated graphics make sure you disable them in the BIOS if you haven't already. What games are you playing? Could you play them before you go the 6200 and with what?

There is not an option to disable integrated graphics on that particular motherboard's bios but I uninstalled the drivers and disabled the onboard graphics in device manager. Games that I'm playing aren't that recent: things like Pro Evo 3 and Medal of honour. Could play them before I got the 6200 but brought the new graphics card so I could play them on higher res settings.

When you say PCI do you mean PCI as in the standard periperal slot like for sound cards or do you mean PCIe or PCI Express? Because I didn't realize the 6200 came in PCI like you're motherboard would support. And while this wouldn't really make sense why you could play these games before but not now PCI is a very low bandwidth slot that really bottlenecks your graphics card. While things like modems and soundcards aren't affected a graphics card which is constantly processing visual data can be really burdened when it can't relay the data in time. Are you sure there are no incompatability issues with the 6200 and your motherboard?
