Next week-end i'm going shopping for a new hard drive, first off all i'm looking for 200go, this hard drive will be used only for storage, I will store stuff on it only.
I'm really noob in that kind of stuff so I need some opinions.

    thanks alot

If your motherboard supports SATA, then you can get a Seagate 200GB SATA drive or an equivelent Western Digital one. Both should be fine.

You cna use [google]CPU-Z[/google] to find out the motherboard make/model. Then got to the manufacturer's website and find the technical specs for it. IF it lists SATA then you've got it. Otherwise you can get a normal IDE drive (ribbon cable connector).

Out of the Maxtor and Western Digital ,personally, Id go with the Maxtor because it has more cache and Im a fan of Maxtors HOWEVER many people have had problems with Maxtors and the WD is cheaper so Id advise you to buy the Western Digital. The other link I cannot get to work. Sorry

Although I prefer Seagate, I would go with that Western Digital drive. Excellent quality drives and good price. I think you'll be happy with it and shouldn't have problems. The cache on that Maxtor is pretty nice, but I straight out dont trust Maxtor's products.
