I was in my bios today and I enables HDD S.M.A.R.T. capability and now my computer wont boot. It beeps a few times and the monitor doesnt come on and nothing happens. any help? I tried clearing the CMOS (I think). I removed a rather large watch battery type thing for about a minute and put it back in.

Whats your motherboard make/model and what beep codes did you get. They're important for diagnosing problems.

If things get dicey you can actually leave the battery out overnight and see if that helps. has for some folks.

I figured it out. It turns out to reset the CMOS on my MoBo you have to adjust some jumpers

That works fine, as long as your RAM is able to run at the tighter timings, which is what the top performance does on Gigabyte boards.
