It seem freedom2surf have gone down since pipex bought them. I was with pipex before them but changed because f2s was £10 cheaper for the same service. Recently, I think around nov/dec they started to manage the traffic. Which if done incorrectly can cause many problems, which seem to be the case. Because I often get “cannot load page” message, speeds are very slow and poor file download speeds. So I decided to signup to these guys 8MB for around £32 a month. My activation date is set for 13/2/06 so I can't wait. Even if there are problems, as I'm getting a new line I will still are able to use freedom2surf. Maybe even bond the lines to make it 10MB maybe not Well I'll keep you guys updated.
Sweet dude, 8MB, crazy. You guys seem to have some pretty good services over there in the UK I guess. I just hope I can get wireless and manage 1MB or whatever it is.
Yeah there are some good companies, althoguh I'm stuck on 512kbps as BT can't offer us anything more at the minute - man I'd love 8mbps, that would just be awesome, UKOnline were offering it to us for £25 a month after I did a postcode check and verified that we were in fact able to recieve it. In the end my mum decided not to change, oh well. Hope all goes well for you Sniper, you should get some amazing transfer speeds from that.
I'm sure you guys over in the USA can get better speeds? Ithink bulldog are planning to offer 24MB connections in couple of months, so I can't wait. thanks matt555, I hope I do My little bro plays CS Source all the time and complains about the constant lag, so this should help.
I'm sure we do...in the cities. I honestly have no idea how good it could really be. I know people with cable who get good speeds but as far as my opportunities are concerned it's wireless or dial-up. And I'm not even sure what the average wireless connection speed runs at?
UKOnline plan to offer 24mbps soon too, through ADSL2, man those are some crazy speeds, download a song in less than a second...woooooooooooah... hah:
The BT guy came at 8am, took around an hour and half to install the new line, within 5 mins the internet was working. Downloaded a couple of trailers from apple.com at 700Kb/s which is a pretty decent speed, could be better though, now I can't wait for 24mbps connection. HD 1080i quality trailer within 4 mins!
