Have you recently upgraded your OS from 9x to XP? From what i've read on the internet, you may have a corrupt hardware driver! I suggest you download and install the latest drivers for all of your hardware
no it had xp when i bought it i did download a update for my video card though. could that be it. What would be the best way to get updates
You may have downloaded the wrong driver by accident. I suggest you downgrade your graphics card drivers to the one you used to use.
i ran a program called driver detective and the results were that i should update my video card and my sound card which i did and it seems to be ok now (fingers crossed) but it also says i need an update for a standard dual channel pci ide controllerwhere would i get this update from
You could update your IDE channels drivers - but I can't see any real benefit! "It if aint broke, don't fix it!" If you really want to update your IDE drivers, you will need to find out what chipset your motherboard is using. Then visit the manufacturer's website and download the drivers there. Your computer manufacture may host the drivers as well
