Hello I am thinking of installing a second sound card on to my pc just for use with head phones, I have a soundblaster audigy 5.1 at the moment. I use Tractor dj mixing software and want to seperate the monitor output from the 5.1 output, The software will run 2 sound cards so I just want a cheap card with headphone output that will run well with the sound blaster. Any advice would be great Many thanks Darren
Any card should work alongside your Creative card. Although I would suggest not to use a second Creative soundcard, just in case the drivers clash. I would recommend any soundcards that use the AC'97 chipset. They aren't exactly high-end, but they will be more then enough for your headphones. Prices start from as little as £4. Maybe you should look on eBay for a cheap stereo card? Be aware that if you install a second soundcard, it will take dominance of your computer and become the primary device. You don't want this to happen obviously, so once it's installed you will need enter 'sounds and audio devices' in the control panel. Click on the 'audio tab' and then select your prefered audio device
I've installed more then 2 Creative sound cards side by side, and I didn't experience any type of driver clash, or the like. Just so you know.
