This may or may not be related, but very shortly after installing my new
Leadtek digital TV card yesterday, the WAN miniport part in device manager
has decided to not work and shows a nice little Exclamation Point beside it.
And now, after watching tele for about 20 minutes, the image will skip and the sound will cut in and out
almost like watching a scratched DVD disc. Following this skipping i will either have to restart the WinFast DTV program
    or reboot my machine.
I have the latest drivers for all my hardware and all the XP updates applied.
Anyone have any suggestions to fix this and are these related?

    Thanks

Choppy images and sound distortions (horrible squeeks)? Sounds like you need to reposition your ariel :) It's the same for me on my Digital TV card (Hauppauge). I've got a naff indoor ariel, and I am forever moving it around the room

As for your WAN device, what does it say when you double click on it in device manager?

It could be that you WAN device and your TV card are sharing the same IRQ and DMA channels. To find out:

    1) Start > Run > type MSINFO.
    2) Look under the hardware tab on the left hand side for 'Conflicts/sharing'.
    3) Click on it to see what it produces

Well here are the conflicts listed.
Here is a screenshot of my IRQ's listed.
The WAN miniport says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)".
In addition, my antenna is roof mounted and is facing in the right direction. WinFast DTV correctly scans and finds all digital channels in the area and plays all channels perfectly for 20 minutes and then it skips horribly until i restart it (Yes, horrible squeeks).

    Thanks

I can't see an IRQ assigned to your WAN device? I suggest you visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers.

To be honest, I think you are experiencing two unrelated problems. Digital TV reception can get disturbed easily. My signal cracks up whenever a bus goes past, or a motorbike parks outside with the engine running. Do you live near an airport by any chance? :)

What BIOS brand do you have?

By the way, what software are you using to watch digital TV?

You should check out Showshifter as it works with many brands and does a great job. It's a complete home media center application, with EPG and video suite. It also works with remote controls.

Unfortunately it's not free, and as of last month the company went bust :x: So you won't be able to purchase it either. However, you should try it to see if your reception problem is any better

I have all the latest drivers for all my hardware.
In addition, i have all the latest software and codec's to boot.
No, i don't live near an airport or any other noisy or traffic infested place.
BIOS is Phoenix/Award and is the latest.
I'm using Leadtek's own WinFast DTV.
