I am considering upgrading my RAM to 2GB in the next month or so, however my motherboard says that it supports up to 4GB yet it only has 2 memory slots. I did find 2 x 2GB RAM on Ebay a while ago, but it was really expensive. Does anybody know of any affordable single or dual 2GB sticks (DDR or DDRII, not fussed) and where I can get them from?

Or is it pretty much the same theory of prices comparing a 3GHz P4 to a 3.8GHz P4 with very little noticable spec differences?

What do you mean by "affordable"? 2GB sticks are still pretty expensive. On the cheap end, you're looking at around $250 and you go up to almost $1,000 for a single stick, from what I've seen at Newegg

What are you planning to do that you need 4GB of RAM, if you don't mind my asking...

2GB is still a luxury in most cases.

i have 2gb RAM, I got mine from Crucial - its the Ballistix one. Cost me around £200 or in american dollars around $400. Its an high performance RAM as well plus they offer free delivery from their website. have a look the prices may have gone down.

I was just curious about the 4GB max thing, thats all. I am using a lot of home studio recording applications right now and RAM is essential in that aspect I've learned. I can get by on my current 1GB RAM, however some VST instruments that I use tend to slow down a little when they eat up around 400MB worth.
