hi guys , am currently running an amd sempron 2400+ 1.67ghz , what would you reccomend to upgrade just the processor , mobo is a foxconn k75741mg-6l, socket a ?? thinking of a faster sempron or an athlon , and how difficult is it to do ?? what s the cock up risk lmso
socket a has been dead for a while now, no processors made but you can pick up some on ebay for fairly cheap amd athlon (barton core) is the best socket a got
I would get a new 939 mobo and an AMD athlon 3000+. I have an socket A Sempron(2500+) as well and plan on doing the same pretty soon.
if you're willing to spend the money, a new motherboard and processor would be a good choice but then you should seriously look into a new power supply as well.
