Hello all, I am a new member. My name is Jesse and I love computers! I recently reformatted my hard-drive on my Dell Inspiron 6000. It used to be Windows XP and now is a Novell Linux. I don't even have Windows XP on my system anymore... I deleted it. I like to read, write (currently working on a fantasy novel), mess with computers, and listen to music.
But look what Jesse had to say in the General Software forums: Jesse, what Linux distributions are you using or have used in the past? Personally I use SuSE Linux on my main PC, but I've installed Ubuntu on my other mostly Windows machine. I only have Windows installed for my college work though [ot]I got my free CDs from Ubuntu yesterday I just love these guys. Especially when you consider they don't have the resources of say Microsoft and yet they are willing to send out a free and fully operational OS. Sure you can get free CDs from Microsoft, except they are crippled trial versions of their terrible server platform. Hmm, I wonder which is better? I LOVE LINUX!![/ot]
Well Megamaced, I use SuSE on my laptop. That's my main choice for Linux. This is the first time I have ever used another OS. It's going to take some time getting used to I think. As for the browsers, I use both Opera & Firefox. Usually its firefox....but if I am in the mood, I choose Opera. I used to have Windows XP on my machine, but as I mentioned, removed it permanently. It was easier than I thought. Regards, Jesse
