I know little about computers. My keyboard has a key that says Print Screen-SysRq, how do I get this to work? I also have four arrows that will work on up, right and left, but not down. This is a Dell with XP Home installed. I'll take any help that I can get. Thanks.
hi, if you press and hold <Ctrl> then press <Print Screen-SysRq> your computer appears to do nothing but in fact, it copies the screen to the clipboard, so press and hold <Ctrl> then press <Print Screen-SysRq>, then go into a graphics program (like paint) and click Edit then click paste or paste as new image, and it is an exact copy of your screen when you pressed Print Screen-SysRq.
You don't actually need to use CTRL, just the single button. Pressing alt-print screen will copy the current window to the clipboard.
More confused. Thought that key was a solution to hard copying the screen that you were looking at, guess not. Actual prob. is when trying to hard copy a web site page, I ended up copying the whole site half the time. Like I say, not too smart on a computer.
hmm.....As per I understand your problem. You are using print function from Internets browser menu and you end up with whole site's Hard copies..It was happned with me as well once in my college. I was trying to print 1 page and end up with 32 pages.................You have so many solutions to solve this problem. 1. As Mr. Donkey42 said. 2. Go to file press print priview and see which page you want to print and then again select print funtion from the file menu. Select pages _to_ and print. 3. You can select the particular region with your mouse and paste in the word. 4. There are few websites which doesnt allow you to select the text or right click. There you press the Print Scrn/SysRq button. Go to paint and press Ctrl+V. Use cut tool and select the region you want to print. There might be many more ways you can use to print but remember one thing always use print from the file menu because it tells you how many pages you are going to print............... Which arrows you are talking about.......Numeric keypad arrows or the normal ones?
"Which arrows you are talking about.......Numeric keypad arrows or the normal ones?" I'm talking about the normal ones.
Click Start, Control Panel, and then click Accessibility Options. The Accessibility Options window opens. Click the Keyboard tab in the Accessibility Options window, then uncheck the box next to Use FilterKeys. Figure 1: Accessibility Options: FilterKeys Click Apply. The keyboard should now function normally.
