Compatibility of intel 875P chip and ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard

    I am just wondering if I am able to fit an intel 875P chip into the P4P800 Deluxe motherboard which has a chipset of 865PE?

    Both are of socket type 478...

    Any information is appreciated.

    In addition to what Ninja Fetus has said, you can only use a Socket 478 CPU. The newer LGA775/Socket 775 CPU's are physically incompatible with the CPU socket on that motherboard.
