Can somebody tell me what problems I should lookout for if the cpu starts to for bad. The reason for this I think my cpu is serious boot up issues. Please help me if you can. Thank You
Often its not the CPUs that fail, unless they've seriously overheated. Even then most modern CPUs will have a safety mechanism which slows down, or shuts off the computer if a certain temperature threshold is reached. If you can describe the problem we may be able to help your further.
I have biostar m7ncg 400 installed. And when I try to turn on the computer it starts to do strange things. As soon as I plug the computer in it starts to turn on all by itself and I have not touched the power button on the computer. But it does not show anything on the monitor. I unplug the computer and then plug it back in and the computer does nothing. Even when I try to push the start button on the computer. Could the power supply cause things like this or is the motherboard not grounded right. Please help if you can. Thank You.
i have a power supply that does the same thing, just really likes to be on of course i modded the power supply to do so, it was used in a daisy chain. i have to hold the power button on, plug it in and release power button just after i hear a hard drive or whatever spin up. sometimes it doesn't work
I found out it is my power button that is causeing all these problems. The computer is a Emachine. I heard there was been alot of Emachines with bad power buttons. Thanks for the help.
Do you think replacing the power switch with a different one beside the one for Emachine will that work? I heard it has to be the one for Emachine because its proprietary. Is that true. Or could I put everything in a different case? Please help if you can. Thank You.
If it's still under warranty then contact wherever you bought it from... If it's not you might be able to contact eMachines to see if they can offer any advice or sell you any spare parts.
yeah, replace the sw & don't bother contacting Emachines, at least you'll have a pc that works, you could very easily use a new case (about £30)
