I just bought my new Radeon x1300 pro, plugged it in, got windows to recognize it, and all that, but when I restarted my computer, after it got past the loading screens, the monitor just went black. The computer was still responding, as I could type in my password and hear the login music, but the monitor refused to show anything. Just in case it was a problem with my monitor, as its rather old, I plugged a friends monitor in, but the same thing happened. I can plug my old 8500 in and it will work fine, so the problem is exclusive to my x1300. Anyone have any help for me?
I would booting into VGA mode by pressing F8 at system boot. From there, set the resolution to 800x600 and the Refresh rate to 60Hz. After all this, you should be able to boot into Windows properly and select your desired resolution and refresh rate. P.S - How old is your monitor?
