    Hi all,
After just recently upgrading my rig i decided to loan my XP Barton 2800+ to my cousin. Well, after installing the chip in his motherboard, i proceeded into the BIOS to change the FSB to 166 so it'd be detected correctly. Immediatley after selecting 166 the system crashes and spits out constant beeps. I then unplugged the rig for a minute, reset the BIOS and all was well again, until i tried it again. So this just happens in endless loops. So now the rig is operating at 1250Mhz instead of 2083Mhz.
    Any ideas?
    System specs:
    XP 2800+ Barton
    1GB RAM
    ATi 9600XT
    1 SATA and 1 IDE
    1 DVD Burner
    450W 12V+ @ 18A, 5V+ @ 50A, 3.3V+ @ 28A "Yum Cha" PSU.
Although this is a no name PSU, i've verified it works properly in my new rig.

    Thanks Guys,

EDIT: I managed to get it to run at 2083 and i got into Windows, then soon after it restarts in endless loops. Sounds like a possible PSU issue to me. Agree?

Could it be the memory? this is something i have never been sure about, but most people say to me that your CPU's FSB must equal the the Mhz of your ram.

I say im not sure, as my old system ran fine with diffrent FSB and Ram Speed :D

Yeah, I kinda wonder if his RAM is PC2700 (or faster) or not.

Yeah, i never thought of the RAM.
I'll check that out, as he has three sticks of different sizes and speeds.
