Should I wait until Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 to upgrade?

I have all of my parts picked out, but I was wondering if I should wait until Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 comes out. Oh forget it. I have seen the gameplay videos and Half-Life 2 which are definitely using the 9800 Pro or XT(I'm getting the Pro) and they just look killer- no lag, all features turned up I'm sure, what more could you want?

Exactly. HL2 has been pushed back to April of next year, and I think Doom III is schedualed to hit in the fall or late summer. Yeah, you can wait, but the Radeon's are the choice grahpics for HL2. I don't see that radically changing. It'll require some heft to push around, but any mid-range grahpics card should be fine except for high-resolution and/or max anti-alaising.

I sent an email to Valve and Steam asking them for a demo of Half-Life 2 for Christmas:cool: And anyways, the 9800 Pro is a classic in itself, and I don't think it will ever be outdated!
