    Probably not. 2GB is on the high-end for desktop, with most people running 512MB-1GB. You're highly unlikely to see a benefit with 4GB.

    you may find that you will get more juice from your apps if you use only 1 gig of ram. eg. games. but if you use memory intensive apps, i suggest you stick with two.

    so you're saying i should take out one of my Sticks and bring my memory down to 1GB?

    Obviously the more RAM available, the better the system performance. 512MB is more then enough for Windows XP, but if you wanted to future proof your computer then 1GB is the way to go.

    I see you have 2GB installed? :) Unless you are running a server i'd call that excessive!

    I think your money would be better spent elsewhere
