    XP Pro
    Asus A8N32SLI w/ latest BIOS
    AMD 3700+

    System crashes to reboot.

    error code 1000008e, parameter1, c0000005, etc, etc,

then system reboots and can't find BIOS untill I hit reset on the computer. After resetting the BIOS is back. Everything runs fine again. Crash happens aprox. twice a week.

    Any thoughts?

try rolling the bios to the one before the latest. the latest bios might be not stable

It happens in previous version too.

    Event ID: 1003

I think I might have a bad memory module. It crashed today 3 times in one hour.. Its odd... sometimes it happens twice a week.. now 3 times today?

Have you tried a memory testing tool? I found this one worked okay for me MemTest: RAM reliability tester for Windows

I had a similar error, it ended up where i did an F8 boot, and chose the last known good configuration, problem solved. This was in a case where there had been no changes or additions of new programs...Hope it helps...

    1. Look in your device manager, if there is any yellow mark?
    2. Paste the event errors from even viewer.(Right click my computer > manage > event > (first look in software and then hardware))
    3. As David said, try to run [link=http://www.memtest86.com/]Memory Test[/link] overnight and see if you come out with any ram errors.
