ok, i recently upgraded from a msi k266 athlon xp 2000 geforce fx 5200 to a EPoX EP-MF4ULTRA, athlon 64 x2 3800, and 7600gt... everything is working fine, all is well.. with the exception of 1 problem. that problem is that my dial up modem will not dial. it recognizes it, it installs it, it succedes in communicating with it.. but will not dial. i have tried changing pci slots, i origionally thought it was a faulty windows install, so i reinstalled xp but still the problem remains. when i first put my rig together, the modem worked, but was unstable. i got disconnected and from then on (only 2 days) it will not get past the "prepare dial.." step. I am using Juno... I am woundering if it is juno that has a problem using dual core 64bit cpus or is it a problem with my mobo? i HAVE tried to use a different modem and i get teh same problem.. please if anybody can help, i'd be greatly thankful
Are you sure it's not an issue with Juno itself? I'm not a huge fan of AOL, but if you have one of their trial CD's around, you might try that. If not, you might give [google]PeoplePC[/google] a try.
that is what i am thinking. possibly a problem with the juno software and dc 64bit... i dont have any aol cd and i might give pcpeople a try.. i just want to know that i CAN dial out... ok well thanks
im using win xp media center 32bit. but dont worry about it.. i got it working... there was a service.. remote connections manager i think is what it was called... and it wasnt starting.. but thats all fixed now.. thanks anyways
