Hello, recenlty my Lacie 250GB HD which I only used with my Mac, was repartitioned on a windows xp machine, without formatting it(my brother stopped the procedure when he read the "now you have to format" string ). My Mac now wants to partition it while windows wants a format, so i cant see my data. Is there a way to recover the old partition info? Or do I have to use a recover software to get my data back? Thanks a lot for help, im really desperate Regards, Iggy
hi iggzypug yes, you will have to use recovery software to have any chance of getting you files, if you take it to a specialist it costs a premium, so recovery software is the best bet. I've not come across a freeware tool which can help recover a whole partition but I have used Active@ UNDELETE Data Recovery which recovered most if not all of my files.
Oh, too bad 250Gigs will tale a lot of time Thanks, i'll update as soon as i solve. iggy EDIT: solved i'm using Data rescue II, a Mac compatible recovery software. 7hours just to inspect the HD!
