ummm i didn't know where this would go in the forum, but you know those white cords labled as p2, p3, p4... etc...? (inside of the computer)

well first off, is there a name for them?

and second, my p3 is this tiny four pin (smaller than the rest of the cords) and i was wondering how to use it or how to make it the same size as all the other ones (like a converter or something)...

and finally, is there something that you can plug into one of those to make more? (like plug something into say p4, and get like three more white cords?)

because i have an extra hard drive i want to plug in but i am one white cord short... (like i need a p7)...

if you don't get something i said then i can clarify my question...

    thanks in advance.

no they are not the ide cables... those are for data... i'm talking about the power cables... the ones that are not IDE...

i think they are called molex cables (good ol' employee at radio shack)... they have rainbow colored wires coming out the back of them...

    EDIT:

    here's a picture:

You need something like this picture
    [IMG]

Where Male pin connector will go into your current wire and will give you extension for more...
This is an example of four but you can get two as well.

omg where is that from? where can i get a four port one?

i have found a dual-splitter but i need something like the one you posted... if you can tell me where you got that from that would be great.

    EDIT:

nevermind i looked at the image location and saw it was from frontx...

the only way i could get that one is if i ordered it from the website... and i'd rather try and find it at a store where i don't have to deal with shipping and the waiting for the package...

i found a splitter at compUSA that splits into two for like 2 bucks...

and i suppose if i ever get more drives i can just buy another one...

but i think this problem has been solved...
