i have a toshiba laptop and it has a weird problem. after i boot into windows my built in screen works for a few minutes and then it fades out and the whole screen turns white and will not come back until the laptop is restarted via the power button. the video (vga) out works fine and never cuts out. i tried changing the ram just to see and it did not help. i also tried reformating and tried using a live linux cd to test and see if it was a driver problem or something and as soon as it tries to boot from the cd the screen fades to white. i dont know whats going on. thanks
Run your computer in safe mode and see if it still fades out. Also check in your even viewer(Right Click my computer > Manage), what kind of errors you are getting in your hardware and software. Also, check in your Device Manager if there is any yellow exclamatery sign?
it does the same thing in safemode. and it is not a windows drivers problem because it did it with the live linux disk.
I think you are not getting me properly... Right click on the My COmputer>Manage>SystemTools>EventViewer>System.. If there is any event with a red cross on the right hand side, right click on it, copy the whole event and paste here. Just have a look on the latest dates, dont go much back. It can provide some help for looking problem...
Then I think your LCD is on its ending stage.... coz I've no more points in my mind unless somebody else from this website comes out with a brilliant idea.
