I cannot decide between a 8MB of cache SATA300 and a 16MB of cache SATA150 hard disk, so I want to know your opinion of why whichever is the best between them.
If you have a SATA2 hard drive controller, then the first choice would be the better. If you don't have a SATA2 controller, the choice does not matter that much.
Personally I would choose SATA II 8mb, but then again, I don't have a clue what the cache does on a hard drive or a CPu, the only reason I got a Athlon 64 SKt 939 over a top end sempron SKt 754, is because I just got told that semprons are very minimal for gaming, what SHOULD have I chose for, a Sempron 64 3600+, or my 3200+ A64
I do have SATAII port. I want to use my PC for gaming, so which one is better for it? I think it is the 16MB cache SATA 150 one, but I ain't sure.
The HDDs have the same capacity. I don't list other specifications because they're the same or aren't important. The 16MB cache SATA150 HDD is Western Digital brand and the other HDD is Samsung. I haven't had any problems with WD, but I don't know of Samsung.
I would highly recommend Samsung drives, plus they are also known to be the most silent. I currently have 3x200GB and 2x250GB in RAID1 setup
