Just the thought of Vista-only games like Crysis and Halo 2 infuriates me. I recently upgraded my computer JUST so I could play those kind of games, and now Windows expects me to buy their newest bug-fest in order to play them! ARG. OSes are so expensive on release...maybe I'll buy it off Ebay like I did my XP ($10 from Austrailia..can't really beat that!). Saddens me, though. The software really does run the hardware, doesn't it?
Don't worry dude, Halo 2 is the only game that'll require Vista right now. Crysis will work just great with XP and DX9. Granted you won't see all the game offers till you have a DX 10 card (which does require vista) but hey it'll still work and all current screenshots for the game are running on DX 9 hardware to put things in perspective. And those requirements, while obviously massive aren't to the point of insanity. I mean I'll obviously not even bother trying to run it on my current rig as it's pretty much at the bottom of the list but at least the Recommended requirements exist (except for the DX 10 cards). Also note these aren't official specs, the game is still in developement and things are likely to be changed closer to launch by the end of 2006.
Point taken about that. I'm glad I'll still be able to run Crysis, which seems like a GREAT looking game. I am a bit bummed out about Halo 2, however. It's fun on the Xbox, but just not the same. I'll take my mouse and keyboard any day over those clunky controllers.
For sure dude, but it is still the same game you've played many times before with friends, just with some graphical touchups. I mean the single player's good but it won't blow you're mind. Multi's where it's at as you know, and I'm not even into multiplayer much in most games.
'Dat tru. Avec mon nouveau high-speed connection, I can prwn mofos 24/7! That's the real reason why Halo 2 interests me. Hurray for Oddball!
