Hello I upgraded my PC adding new mother board and processor (details see bellow). So in result I faced the following problems: 1) Hard drive detection: Sometimes hard drives are not detected at all. This problematic situation cannot be resolved by just pressing "Reset". It can be resolved by "Switch OFF -> Switch ON" 2) The “freezing” (unpredictable, improper) behavior of "UP" and "DOWN" arrow buttons in standard boot menu of MS Windows OSs. I cannot often make a choice of OS (I want to load) by first attempt. A few attempts I have to do to make a desired choice. It is also noticed in the menu of boot disks (CD) like Hiren'sBootCD6. In BIOS configuration menu this situation has not been noticed. I should also notice I played with BIOS Typematic Rate Settings but no results. 3) The DVD disks I read before the upgrade I cannot read them now. The message I am prompted is “ 'Drive name' is not accessible. Incorrect function” 4) What temperature of processor is normal? Currently it is 57 - 58 C. Where can I get utility to watch the temperature in my OS (Win XP) not just in BIOS configuration utility. And what is real frequency of Processor be in this configuration? It is 2 GHz. Would you please make these issues clear? My current PC configuration is summarized bellow Any professional advice, suggestion, assumption are appreciated If you need more details feel free to ask I am looking forward to your quick reply. OK, i ain't sure about the HDD problems, but 57 - 58 degrees when your not even in windows or haven't been playing a game is far far far too high, my 3700+ AMD 64 is at 29degrees idle, i have it overclock by 600MHz to 2.8Ghz and am using the stock cooler. Make sure that your Fan/Heatsink is on properly, make sure there is no gaps between the CPU and Heatsink, you did not scrape the thermal pad off of the heatsink right? Maybe with the Hard Drive and DVD Drive check that there properly configured, so that on the Hard Drive the jumper is set to "Slave", and on the DVD Drive make sure the jumper is set to "Master" and that the IDE cable is in the main IDE slot on the MotherBoar.
