Hi, there are alot of good quality cards out there but the challenge set was to bring in a quality card without needing a loan to pay for it. So ive had a bit of a scout around my usual haunts and there are a few quality deals out there. All obviously depends on your current set up but my favourite find was a geforce 7600gt pci-e on Tekheads.co.uk. A quality piece of kit for £120. My other haunt where i purchased my current card was Hardware Forums - PC / Computer Support Forums, always have some mega offers on currently offering a Sapphire X800GTO² 256mb GDDR3 PCI-E VGA/DVI/TV-out for £116.53, also a Radeon X1600 XT 256MB PCI Express rolling in at £105.74 from Memory upgrades, graphics cards, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com. Personally id spend a bit more an get the 7600gt. but anyway hope this helps Kev
thanks kev . this 7600gt seems to pop up quite often so must be good. im off to a computer fair on tuesday il see whats on offer.
iv just found these 7600gt on the ebay but there xxx edition (whatever that means) anway it has two connectors on the back and none of them look like my monitor plug but it says it comes with a DVI-VGA adapter included with package so is that the connector i need also if it says it comes with it as if ur gettting something free if i bought one from a shop would i have to buy this adapter seperatly.
Yeah even if it didn't come with one a DVI-VGA adaptor is very cheap and a perfect solution. I use one with my video card without a hitch. The XXX thing is just a little marketing gimmick, this card is slightly factory overclocked so it'll perform a bit better than it's competition with normal clockspeeds. The 7600GT is the way to go though, great price for a brilliant card. You won't be dissappointed.
