when buying a processor whats the difference between oem and retail and why do retail ones cost more. thanks
just a quick one OEM -> stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer", these are usually cheaper because they don't contain all the extra, theretail version might contain e.g. with a OEM CPU you would only get the CPU while with a RETAIL CPU you would get the CPU, Heat-sink, Packaging etc
just a quick one OEM = No heatsink/fan and supplier warranty (relatively short) Retail = stock heatsink/fan + 3 year warranty from AMD Get the retail, even if you're not going to use the stock hsf.
only asking cos i see ppl say they have retail cpu etc. and im currently looking for a amd64 3500+ socket939 if anyone knows any cheap sites. thanks guys
