just got a dvd rom but dont have the instructions so want to no what the jumper has to be on to make it the master drive. as its got 3 sets of pins and the jumper is currently on the furthest to the right. does it have to be on the left for master. its a toshiba TS-H352
Most brand new DVD-ROM drives come set as 'Slave'. So logically you would need to place the jumpers to the left. The middle jumpers are usually for Cable Select, which you could also use
There should be 3 pin setting options running from left to right on the back of the unit: CS (cable select), SL (slave) & MA (master). My DVD ROM follows this sequence, but I don't know if this is the case with all units. However, the pin settings should be clearly marked on the rear of the unit to avoid any confusion.
ha ha found it they were ingraved very lightly on the top and its preset to master on the right. cheers guys
