    Hey all,

I bought a new Geforce 6600LE 256mb AGP card and it seems to be slower than my old ATI Radeon 9800PRO 128mb, is there any reason for this??

The amount of memory is basically just a marketing scheme. Pay more attention to clock speeds, pixel pipelines, vertex shaders, etc. Also do some research and try to find benchmarks for any cards you want to compare, It will give you a good idea of its performance.

yeh the x800pro is better than both of them.
Dont tell me that you actually bought your graphics card from *Rip off* ahem pc world. ive got a 7300le and i cant play doom 3 on ultra settings. Refund that card anyhow, it shud be crapper than that 9800 but even if it wasnt i wud refund it anyway

the x800 will stomp those two, do get it if you can. out of the other two, I believe the 6600 is better.

The 6600LE may have 256MB of Video Memory but that makes no real difference on lower-end cards.

The 9800Pro has a 256-Bit Memory Interface, I believe the 6600LE only has a 128-Bit interface - that will cripple performance.

The LE on the end usually refers to an almost standard 6600 - sometimes the LE cards are actually 'lower' then the normal cards.

Extensions can get confusing so don't always think that becuase something's got letters after it it's automatically better than the standard model.

If you can get the X800Pro for cheap it may be a good investment.

ive ordered my x800pro now lol, but ive been told that my version is better than the link youve sent, as it is an original ati build and not a connect 3d, and theres not a noticable difference between the models

If that's what you've been told, then it must be true.
