Hi, thought i would delete some stuff off my taskbar, one of em was soundmanager for my realtek ac97 poo onboard sound. Well before i deleted it i thought it would be great to play around with the settings. Unfortunately it now sounds like im in a large bathroom and underwater.

Can't find the program or the same replacement. ive downloaded 1 but it doesn't have all the sound settings on it.

Surely i should win dumbass of the day!!!

Realtek is only the chip manufacturer. Other companies take Realtek's chip and add bits to it. So you should download from the actual manufacturer.

I had a similar problem with my Intel AC'97. I downloaded the drivers from Realtek and they didn't work properly. But when I downloaded the Intel version it worked fine

right i have no onboard soundcard. i have a wire plugged into the mobo which then goes into my amp and speakers. so its not the drivers i need its a software program that sits in my taskbar. i downloaded it before but cant remember where i got it from.
I keep finding a rubbish version that doesn't include sound effects and advanced audio.
