Hey all, just a quick question... I have a - P4 3.0ghz HT northwood 512k cache and a - P4 3.0ghz Prescott 1mb cache (SL7E4) Which processor is better? i know one has a bigger cache,but i dont think it has HT
The Prescott cores didn't really take full advantage of the extra cache - plus they run incredibly hot! Can you run any tests that'll confirm which one runs better?
not really, im currently using the northwood one, shall i just not bother changing it to the prescott one?
They're very similar in performance, here are two links you can look at. PC Perspective - Intel Pentium 4 3.4 GHz Prescott Processor Review Intel's Pentium 4 Prescott processor - The Tech Report - Page 1
