    Hey everyone.

This problem is an odd one. Flash games and websites seem to freaze my computer. Happens randomly while playing flash. Sometimes computer just completely locks up and other times it restarts. In start up and recovery i have it set up so the computer doesnt automaticly restart when theres an error but i still dont get error messages at all. Event viewer also doesnt display any errors. Ive tried removing and reinstalling flash, reinstalling different video drivers and even formating and reinstalling my computer and the issue wont go away. Could someone give me advice to what might be the problem.

I have a Pentium 3 Tulatin Celeron 1.4 with 768mb ram. Ati radeon 9550 128mb vid card with newest drivers. On a gigabyte GA-6VTXE MB with newest bios. Winxp Pro with all updates.

Any information or advice would be great. thanks.

remove flash, redownload flash, scan for viruses & spyware, remove anything found, then install the new version of flash you downloded

Ive tried that before and just tried it again and still the same issue. First time half an hour into the game the computer locked up completley and then the second time the computer restarted as i turned the program on.

Run [LINK=http://memtest86.com]Mem Test V3.2[/link] and see if you come across any memory error.....

memtest didnt find any faults... but i swaped out some of the ram with another computer and both the computers are now working fine. i think it may have diff types of ram chips conflicting. i guess the other computer wasnt picky. thanks for the help. :)

damn it... its not fixed. it just restarted on its own. I played the game for about 3 hours just fine. then i was working on a website and looking through flash templates and the computer restarted. i came back to it ten mins later and tried playing the game. I turned on the flash game and the computer restarded.

Check in your event viewer(Right Click my computer > manage > Even Viewer)

Copy and paste the Application/System errors here. That might provide some help while detecting the error.

My computer was freazing because there were bad capacitors on the motherboard. Eventualy after i made it freaze a fiew times on purpose by opening flash pages the computer stopped booting. i looked at the mobo and the capacitors around the CPU were bubbled right up about to explode. need a new computer now... cant be bothered to order new caps and resolder them.
