AVG or Avast

    Which of the two is better for antivirus? Avast! Home edition or AVG (Or even Googles Free Norton)? Thanks.

    Try Avast, it seems to be lighter and less troublesome than AVG. As for anything bearing the "Norton" or "Symantec" names, avoid like the plague. ;)

    Last time I used Avast it was must less noticable than AVG, and AVG had periodic update issues. That said, I haven't run an OS which requires an antivirus in ages.

    You're right about that. Unlike Avast, AVG won't update at all if you are running as a normal user.

    AVG is pretty poor in my opinion. Go with Avast

    AntiVir is pretty good but I don't have much experience with it
