Hi, I have a dell dimension 2400 and purchased qwest highspeed dsl internet service. I have tried everything the indian guy on quest help said but nothing has worked so, heres the problem:

My internet works fine when im using dsl, but only when im connecting the router to my computer using the usb cable it came with. The lan cable it came with doesnt work (the green light on the router is on for lan when it is connected but at the back of the pc tower, the light for the lan cable is orange and i cant get any internet service).

how can i make it so that my computer can access the internet through the lan cable instead of dsl?

    thanks,

    Murid

Do you see any icon on the right hand side bottom of your desktop when you connect the Ethernet Cable??

No, and whenever i plug or unplug in the lan cable, it doesnt make a noise like it does with the usb cable

Is your network card working properly? When you go to my network and select view network connections, does it displays any icon there? You might need to enable it from there....

Plug in the network cable and open up a DOS prompt.

    Then type:

    Code:
    ipconfig /release
    Followed by:

    Code:
    ipconfig /renew
