Nvidia 7 series launch??

    i just found this on the nvidia website, and i was positive they were already out and besides that holy crap the 7800GTX is $780 something, thats ridiculous. I don't understand whats going on

    Yeah that is ridiculous, even at the time it was released barely anyone would pay that much for it, especially concidering the standard 7800GTX could churn though anything at the time. Why it's still at a crazy price is beyond me though. If I recall when the 7800GTX launched it was around $600/650, but it quickly dropped about a hundred bucks. I guess they felt that if people were willing to pay $650 they'd pay $780 for some reason. I doubt many did but someone thought it was a good plan.

    i guess, i also didn't know that the 7800 came in a GTX configuration

    Yeah, it pretty much mimicks the same configuration as the 7900 series. GS, GT, GTX, though there isn't a GX2 or anything as far as I know.

    The 7800GTX has 24 Pipes, just like the 7900 Series - the 7800GT on the other hand had just 20 I believe.
