I have a 600w OCZ powerstream PSU and i didn't really think about it that much but i might not have enough wattage to run quad sli. i'm still looking around but man that would be kinda ridiculous if i needed to get another psu.

    Yeah, that's not surprising...at least you don't have a DX10 quad-sli setup

The OCZ 700W is probably one of the cheapest units on that list.

yeah i'm curious to wether or not you actually need 700 watts or if that just a safe amount. I mean now adays 600w watts doesn't sound like much these days but really that a hell of a lot of power. I remember when i got my first 500w unit, that was crazy a few years ago. I'm still going to look around and see what configurations people have gotten to work.

It's not going to consome 700wts, not even 4 beefy cards, but with you're whole system and the cards running under heavy load they want a good overhead, otherwise companies would get huge complaints about crashes and lockups due to insufficient power.
Are you really concidering quad SLi though? I think it's pretty safe to say anyone's CPU would bottleneck before they needed all that juice but I suppose there must be benifits.
