Kayak XA POST error

    My Kayak XA is giving me the error POST 0011. I searched the HP site and found out that is due to the time and date being lost in the BIOS. My question is how do I reset the time and date when I cant get to the setup screen? I get the error message and start up stops before anything ever gets to the screen. Is there a trick to get into the set up screen?

    So you cant get into BIOS?
    Losing the time and date is usually down to a dead cmos battery but this shouldnt stop you from using the compute. It just means you need to do your settings in BIOS upon every boot.

    I suppose you could try replacing it just to see. Rob one from another computer if thats possible. It saves going out and spending money "just in case"

    error Code 0011

    1. Check that the battery is properly inserted.

    2. If necessary, replace the battery as described in the User's Guide.

    3. Set time and date from the setup program or from the operating system.
