Will FEAR run well on my pc: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.14ghz each 2 gigs of DDR2 Ram 500 Gig harddrive Current Video Card: Nvidia 7300 LE intergrated PCI-E (no agp here) Nvidia 7300 GT 512 mb, 128 bit on order to be installed when i recieve it(im a college kid so can't fork out mass amounts of cash for a card lol) any feedback and or opinions would be apprieciated
The 7300LE is going to be the weak spot. I'd probably not try to run that thing past an 800x600 resolution. The rest of the system is powerful enough, but you're being cramped with the video card. A 7600GS would be a little extra, but that'd be an improvement. The 7300GT is better, but it's still a real budget card.
The 7600gt is a whole lot of video card that doesnt cost much at all. It will play FEAR completley maxed with great frame rates I believe, especially with the rest of your system. eVGA Geforce 7600GT 256-P2-N615-TX Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com
With the LE you might get fear running on medium texture detail, probably at 800x600 with no AA. You've get a great other half of the rig to back it up but it is very gpu intensive so I think you'll probably find it's not a great experience. Low looks pretty dated but just keep in mind that if you do get it going on medium you're in for a treat as it actually is one of the better looking games around even at that setting (provided other things are turned up a bit). The 7600GS really doesn't cost that much more and would be much more satasfactory for running the game though man.
i don't think i believe that i had a 7600 sli configuration and one rate now, yeah there nice but i wouldn't expect the world from it at all.
I wouldn't either but it beats a 7300 series card anyday. I don't think he expects to max anything but I don't want him to cheat himself and have to play the game with things turned way down. I'd also recommend a 7600GT but it would be out of his price range so it seemed like a happy medium.
yeah i guess, honestly my advice would be to just try and save some money and get the better card. I found myself jumping round cause i wasn't happy with my 7600gt then i got another one for sli then i got a 7950 gx2 and i'm happy now but i had to go through three cards. But whatever, its still a good card and will run everything just don't expect it to make the world stop
Just lower all the settings! This pc has ati express 200 and it looks good enough to me. It doesnt skip either.
You do kind of miss out on some of FEARs more viseral effects when you lower thing though. Damage is much more subdued and everything is muddy and has less reactive properties assigned to them it seems. I think it looks really good on medium but I wouldn't want to play it any lower.
I would suggest Download F.E.A.E combat... the full, unlocked multi-player of the game.... Download that install it, get the latest patch and play it... tweak the settings and see how it is/ how you like it.... . -Maniac
