Is it doing this after you reboot? You might be able to disable it from running at startup.
You can screw around with the registry, but you're better off downloading Xteq X-Setup and using that to help disable certain things at startup.

If you don't install your drivers and updates in the right order, Windows will wig out. Your Radlinker problems are a symptom of this. Try uninstalling your Omega drivers and install files, rebooting, then reinstalling them again. If that doesn't fix it, drop us a line and we'll troubleshoot further.

is that program just like typing msconfig in the run menu? i remember being told that on windows 2000 u can just grab the msconfig exe from an xp machine and whack it into the 2000 system directory and it works the same way ... do i constantly get bullshitted to?

The MSCONFIG deal is just severly different in Windows 2000, because it's designed like NT, not Win98. Windows XP is built to look like versions of Windows that most home users would recognise. In Windows 2000 Pro (NT5), you do everything you'd do from MSconfig in Administrative Tools.

ive decided not to run the omega drivers and radlinker just yet .. im too afraid im gunna hurt my $325 investment so i'll just wait a bit but is there any other overclocking progs? what do u fellas use? i dont think i will use overdrive, i think it better if i have control of the overclocking.

I use Radlinker, because it lets me have more control over the overlock than any other overclocking software. It's also very closely integrated with the drivers, so it seems very natural. Plus Omega Drivers come with artifact testing tools. If you're scared about overclocking, don't overclock. You only gain a small margin of performance anyway, except with very few types of cards. On the other hand, it's not hard nor dangerous if you take in slow incraments. If you jump it up 300MHz, you'll only be kidding yourself anyway. Try overclocking in 4MHz steps, and test for artifacts between every increase. The moment you start getting artifacts, clock it down 4MHz. Then run a 3D app for a long while to prove that the overclock is stable. If you follow that method, you shouldn't have any problems.

If you care about 3DMark scores, *DO NOT* USE OMEGA DRIVERS. They're optimized for gaming, so you'll get better visuals and FPS in games. Synthetic benchmarks however perform poorly. IMHO, synthetic benchmarks are just to show a general idea of what games will perform like with your hardware anyway. Since you already own the hardware, might as well get the most out of it and forgo the benchmarks.
