While we generally like to roll our own around here, if you're looking to purchase a high-end gaming box, [H]ard|OCP 's review of the SonicBoom OCX from HyperSonic would be something to check out.

However, in the grand scheme of things, from the raw performance of the Sonic Boom to the generally competent technical support experience, this has been one of the better experiences we’ve had lately. Given that we timed the absolute fastest WorldBench and DVD encoding times to date, you’re getting a steep performance premium for the associated price premium. If you’re willing to put out the greenbacks for a high-end system, we don’t believe you’ll be disappointed with Hypersonic. They put a lot into the build quality of their machines, and they’re willing to stand behind their work.

hmm, if i was to roll out with a pre buit system i'd still go Falcon Northwest, because when it comes to system builders there all the same, so after that its the benefits and added things that you get.

Well, support would be a big factor. If I roll my own, hey, that's my own time and money. However, if I buy something I darn well expect them to provide competent support if something were to go wrong. Depending on my needs, I would likely buy an HP, especially if it was a laptop. Their products just work and if you should so have a problem, they have great customer service. I'm waiting to see what they do with the VoodooPC acquisition, since the [H] has found a few sticking points in their customer service. Failing that, I honestly probably would go for a Dell XPS. For all the crap Dell gets, from what I've seen at my dad's workplace (he's a Benz mechanic), their systems just work, and that's not exactly the most friendly environment.

well with that said, my parents own a shop and have 3 computers, inside the case is full of black dust and what not, they're all home built pc's. Anyways about falcon northwest, their techs and support are still in the us, they give a actual copy of windows with their systems, have a really good warranty, and other things. With the dells, i honestly have no idea, but i have seen some of their laptops just fall apart though

I've always admired Voodoo. They've been around forever and seem to soak up just about every award possible. They also cost about as much as you can imagine but they've got brilliant built quality and some of the inspired, quiet, and organized cases I've seen in a long time.
I've also got some respect for Widow PC as they're some of the few companies I've seen to include 1500rpm drives in their rigs.
