    Hi,

My dvd drive keeps disappearing, it shows on device manager and so I reinstall the drivers, then reboot and it'll be fine. However, after the second reboot the problem reoccurs.
Anyone know why this might be?

    Cheers! :p

Unfortunately I can't; I'm at uni and only have the one machine.
The problem has gotten worse, it now won't register the drive on reboot.
Would it help if downloaded the drivers and reinstalled these? if so where can I find suitable drivers, the ones listed on the NEC website all seem to be for DOS and win 3.11

Attached are a couple of screen grabs of the problem, hope these help.

    Many thanks,
    Daf
