dvd rom jerky movies

    When I play a dvd on my dvd rom drive the pictures are very jerky. I have two drives and it is the same on both drives.
    Also when I burn a movie on the dvd writer on play back it is very jerky.
    If I play the burned movie on a standard DVD player the results are still the same ie picture is very jerky.
    Can anyone help?

    Check for the firmaware updates of ur DVD drives on their OEM's website.

    Try installing the manufacturer drivers and not the windows xp ones.

    thanks for your help I have upgraded the firmware and the drivers but still no improvement.

    Does it play any other CD properly? I mean not a DVD, just simple VCD?? Go to EventViewer (RightClick MyComputer > Manage > Events > Applications) and see if there is any error after playing a DVD.. Also check in the System Events as well...
