Hi, my HD is currently split into 2 partitions, when i first did it i decided to keep videos, games and music on one side and everything else on the other. Unfortunately it hasn't quite panned out as i originally intended and i now find 40gig empty on one side and only 3 gig spare on the other. So obviously i'd like to even them up a bit. Is there anyway i can copy files across to the other partition or would i have to delete them first and then reset them on the other side. Its my music and games im most concerned about. Thanks in advance.
I'm going out on a bit of a limb here, but I can't see why you cannot simply copy the required files from one partition to the other - after all, it should be as easy as just copying files from one hard drive on your PC to another one.
This PC is the same. The windows partition has 1.5gb spare and the documents partition 12gb. On a 40gb drive Thats the other user filling the desktop with email backups! Anyway, like David said, its simply a matter of copy and paste.
If it's a program, leave it there. Unless you like going through the registry and manually editing the drive paths of the programs, or uninstalling them off the one partition and reinstalling them on the other. The media files, yeah, you can move those without hassle.
