hi guys, i'm having a problem, as you can see (from image) it look as though a DVD is inserted, but both drive coffee cup holder are out

    any ideas ?

BTW: right click & select eject, ejects DVD draw, but icon doesn't disapear (whether there's a CD / DVD in drive or not)

Edit: if i open it, i get a error message saying: No Media Found

    any ideas ?

    BTW: Kubuntu Dapper 6.06

    hello donkey

seems to me like some sort of media device (such as Windows'es media player, or winamp etc) has taken liberty to your dvd drive, the icon may have been replaced with their own, or maybe your lynux (or wot ever it is) is buggered and a format is in order

i'd get a look underneith your audio-prog settings and have a good nosy, failin that get your palms in good grip of a sledge hammer

donkey42, I'm not clear from what you posted on what your exact problem is. Are you saying that you cannot mount DVDs, or is the problem something else?

You can choose whether you want device icons to display on the desktop permanently or only when a device / CD is inserted in the Kubuntu control panel. I think it's under 'Desktop'.
