I'm having a system which is almost 6+ years old. the processor type is of Slot 1. i'm in doubt whether the processor is a P II or P III.. while booting it shows P III 650 MHz.. in the compiter information in win Xp also it shows P III 650 MHz.. but when i check my config in Nero info tool, it shows P II 650 MHz.. i checked intel website and couldnt fine P II 650 MHz processor.. normally P III comes in PGA package and not in slot type.. this is my comfusion.. i'm providing details which i got from system info in win XP: System: VIA Technologies VT82C691 BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG Mother Board: 693-596-W977 Pentium III 650 Mhz my system has got usb 1.0 and so i need to add a usb 2.0 pci card for connecting my zip drive. my system has 256 MB Ram and got a 20 GB Hard disk. is my system P III or P II...?
Pentium III's also came in Slot 1 varieties, not just Socket 370. The fastest Pentium II's were 450MHz. 450MHz was the starting speed for the P3's.
I started a list of the processors intel did not long ago. I never finished it but its got most P2 and P3s. It took so much time it wasnt worth it anymore. www.triplextoy.co.uk/Processors.xls
