    Hey all,

I have aMSN in Linux but the trouble is it's unstable and causes KDE crashes for some reason (in my XGL / Beryl sessions, not sure about KDE sessions) but I'm getting sick of it.

I have GAIM, KMess and Kopette but GAIM doesnt work properly, KMess doesn't connect and Kopette connects but then dicsonnects like 20 seconds later.

I'd like an MSN Messenger client that doesn't crash and that works properly.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

I use Gaim, haven't experienced a single crash or problem at all. You might try running the latest beta and see how that works out for you.

I use Kopete and I don't get disconnected on my MSN account. Sometimes if I keep myself on 'Away' I might get disconnected, but other then that, not really.

You might be able to download a newer Kopete at Index of /packages

It still seems to me that somehow your internet connection is causing the problem (university one). Unless you could reproduce this on your home network, I would start to look at the university network as the root cause.
